Tools: Maya, Substance Painter 2017 and Unreal Engine 4

I wanted to make a nice blend of a stylised environment to a 2.5D platforming game. To be able to reuse assets in the levels I wanted to give the 3D meshes different shapes from different angles so you could use them for other purposes.
For more control and to create simple differences in the assets I made material instances in Unreal Engine 4. With this, I could change the color, opacity, and roughness of materials. Then I combined two materials in a blend, so that the grass or moss would be on top of the asset regardless of orientation. If I was not happy with it I could change the opacity, the amount of moss or grass, and also vertex paint it to fit my needs.
